It reads 73 public tech news RSS feeds, extracts the developments that can be tied to a specific place, and plots them. The map refreshes every five minutes. No account, no paywall.

Where does TechMap Live get its data?

Accepted Answer

From 73 free public news RSS feeds — Al Jazeera, BBC's regional desks, The Guardian, France 24, Deutsche Welle, Euronews, Sky News and the UN peace and security desk, plus regional outlets across Ukraine, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. The list is read on rotation, a slice every five minutes, so each source is checked about every quarter of an hour. No paid data sources are used.

How are events added to the map?

Accepted Answer

An AI model reads each report and extracts incidents that name a specific place, identifying the type of event and its location. The model never supplies the source, outlet or timestamp — those are copied from the original article.

What do the attack lines mean?

Accepted Answer

An arc is drawn from attacker to target only when the source article names who carried out the strike. Where no attacker is named, no line is shown. The origin is an attribution made by the reporting, not an observed launch site.

Is TechMap Live a verified intelligence source?

Accepted Answer

No. It aggregates public news coverage. Locations are estimated by an AI model reading a headline and can be wrong, and there is no human review in the pipeline. Every marker links back to the original article. It should not be used for safety, travel, operational or legal decisions.

How far back does the map show?

Accepted Answer

The ten most recent incidents by default, and the window can be widened to the last hour, 2 hours, 6 hours or 24 hours. The window is absolute: a quiet stretch shows a quiet map rather than being padded out with older incidents.
